May 17th has finally arrived, as Darnell Murphy makes his final preparation for his debut in Tony Jeter's Boxing Promotions. Jeter Promotions would be held at Club One Boxing Gym in millersvile, MD. With all the hard training, sparring, strict dieting, and game planning, we would see how Mr.Murphy would handle this particular sport and the home crowd of his opponent. Murphy isn't a stranger to the procedures of same day weigh in / same day fighting. For he is an experienced, high level wrestler and a highly skilled, explosive Mixed Martial Artist. Successfully making weight thanks to the creator and owner of Advanced Sports Performances D'angelo Kinard. Darnell was all set to get his hands wrapped and get ready for war. He wasn't alone that night, as three other team mates (Luther, Will, and Matt) was also set for battle. One by one, Team Levelup went in to perform lead by owner / striker Jason Farrell. After patiently waiting, Darnell StrongSoul Murphy was up next and you can tell he was prepared for a full 3 round battle.
Family, friends, and team mates marched down the isle to the ring as the announcer introduced his name. Next thing you know, the first round bell rang and the fight was on. Both fighters were moving around, studying each other's reaction and timing. You can tell Murphy's opponent wasn't a newbie to the game for he landed some precise shots, but strong soul knew how to adapt and landed some strong combinations back. First round ended, and you can tell Murphy was having fun. For he was smiling and laughing, no signs of tiredness or fatigue.
2nd bell rang, and they were back at it. This time, Murphy increased the pace and challenge his opponents cardio. Both fighters slipping, dodging, and striking with fast combinations. 2nd round ended, and as both fighters returned to there corner, Murphy noticed his opponent was slowing down. Jason instructs Murphy to aim for the body, as D'angelo instructed Murphy to increase the pace even more.
3rd round began, and that's exactly what Murphy did. His opponent couldn't keep up, he was breaking down more and more. So he tried to push Murphy into the corner. Murphy caught on, spun out, and ripped more body shots to secure the end of the round. The bell rang, the judge counted the points and awarded Murphy with a split decision victory.
Hard work pays off every time. To Murphy surprise, his opponent was a semi finalist in the golden glove boxing tournament and cause of his exciting performance. Jeter promotions is interested in Strong Soul to fight professionally in boxing. We shall see, what Mr. Murphy decides to do...
Unanimous split Decision. Victorious!!!
